Kenward Trust: New Life from Addiction

What YOUR church can do to help us!

There are many ways in which churches can help us, here are just a few suggestions:

  • PRAYER: As a registered Christian charity both staff and residents very much value being thought of and mentioned in your prayers – Please put Kenward on the prayer list in your church!

  • MISSION GIVING: All staff throughout the Kenward Trust are mature Christians – that’s what motivates us in our work! The Kenward Trust is a Mission at Home and we use the word of God as a focus for those in recovery from their addiction. Many of our residents become Christians during their stay with us and continue in their Faith after they have left. Suggest to your church Mission Committee that they add the Kenward Trust to their list of Mission gift recipients.

  • ADOPT US FOR A TIME: Why not adopt the Kenward Trust as YOUR chosen charity for a week, month or year? Hold fund-raising events with the proceeds divided between your church funds and the Kenward Trust. Given sufficient notice, a member of the Kenward staff would be happy to attend any function and give a brief (or long!) talk about our work.

  • FUND-RAISING IDEAS: Hymn Singathons, Vigils, Coffee/Tea Mornings, Organ recitals, Church Concerts, Jumble/Bring & Buy Sale, Harvest Supper Cabaret evening, Barbecue, Antiques Fair, Car wash while worshipping!, Carol Singing, Fancy Dress Discos etc. These are just a few ideas, but not only will they help us, these events can be a great source of bonding and outreach for your church too!

  • CHRISTMAS COLLECTIONS: While Christians everywhere are celebrating the birth of our Lord, there are THOUSANDS of people who are homeless through the consequences of their drug and alcohol abuse that need our services to help them to get well and re-united with their families again. Donate your Christmas collections to the Kenward Trust and help make this Christmas the LAST miserable Christmas for a multitude of people! Why worship someone who was himself homeless on a Sunday, then ignore homeless people for the rest of the week?

  • SPREADING THE WORD: The more people know about us the more people are prepared to help, so spread the word about the good work that the Kenward Trust is doing in the community. Who knows, you may just be telling someone that actually NEEDS our services!

Thank you
